This course is held on the upper level of the Portuguese Cultural Center, in Danbury, Connecticut, just over an hour north of New York City. If coming from New York City, you can get to Danbury by train using the Metro North Line. To see more details on train travel you can visit the official MTA website. For getting around Danbury, there are several taxi services if you won't have your own car.

The course starts each day at 9am. On the first day, please plan to arrive by 8:30 to allow time for you to get checked in and settled. The course will finish at approximately 4pm each day except for the last day, which will conclude with graduation around 1pm.

A one hour lunch break is provided, usually from 12:30 - 1:30. You can choose to eat at the venue's own restaurant, which will have a menu of sandwich and salad options, pop out to a nearby food establishment, or bring your own lunch. Keep in mind that if you bring your own lunch, no outside food is allowed in the conference room itself at this venue.

Students are responsible for locating their own accommodations. There are several hotels in close proximity to the course venue to choose from:

Quality Inn & Suites 203-743-6701

Holiday Inn 203-792-4000

La Quinta 203-798-1200

Danbury Super 8 203-743-0064 This hotel has recently been renovated, and offers a special rate of $67 per night for CIE students. There is a complementary hot/cold breakfast buffet. In order to book with the special rate, it is best to do so over the phone. If you book on their website, you will need to mention to the front desk you are with CIE when you check in. Booking on a third party website will not allow you to get the rate.

If you are interested in perhaps sharing the cost of staying at a hotel with other students attending the class, please let us know and we can connect you with any others.

Keep in mind that this is an interactive workshop where you will be doing a lot of moving around and getting out of your seat, so please dress comfortably.
